The Dembinszky – Murányi corner is dangerous

Murányi Street 42.
Category: Traffic engineering
Status: Waiting for solution
The corner of Dembinszky-Murányi streets is dangerous. Many cars turn left from Murányi onto Dembinszky. The cars parked in Dembinszky block the view of the turning. It is a very dangerous intersection because the driver looks back at the approaching cars, who have priority (either they can fit into traffic or not), so the pedestrian crossing is unsure whether to start or not. It is the scene of many accidents. There should be either a zebra crossing or a light on this corner. 2023/04/19 – Reply from Budapest Public Roads We held a joint on-site inspection at the intersection of Dembinszky Street and Murányi Street in the VII. district with the cooperation of the Erzsébetváros Municipality, EVIN Zrt., and the Police. As a result of the inspection, we are conducting an investigation into the designation of a pedestrian crossing. Due to recent accidents, the “Stop! Give way” signs posted for vehicles will be replaced with fluorescent-backed “Stop! Give way” signs, both on the left and right sides. The obligation to give way will also be indicated with fluorescent-backed warning signs. On Dembinszky Street, for those coming from Dózsa György út, we will install transverse speed bumps in front of the Murányi Street intersection, depending on the weather. We ask for your patience until this is implemented.
