Erzsébetváros is truly colorful, if only because the pedestal of the eponymous statue placed on the beautifully renovated Kéthly Anna Square is still dirty, rusty, and full of brown stains, showing that if something is ugly in its details, then the whole thing looks ugly too. I tried for a long time to get someone from the municipality to go there with a bucket of detergent water and a squeegee, to see if they could wash the ugly stains in 10 minutes, but the only responses I got were abdication of responsibility, shrugging, and signs of indifference. I wonder what it would take for someone to wash this pedestal too???
