Dear CEO Katalin Walter,

Dear Mayor Péter Niedermüller!

Residents, civilians, and traffic experts have been raising their voices for years so that those who are responsible for this should finally solve the VII. traffic problems that appear on a daily basis in Dohány Street in the district.

In Dohány utca, you maintain and maintain a situation that is unacceptable by European standards to this day. Dohány utca needs to breathe and be renewed: the sidewalks must be returned to pedestrians, and they must ensure that trolley number 74 can reliably serve those who travel sustainably.

Numbers are stubborn things and show that the situation is unsustainable. In 2023 alone, trolley number 74 got stuck 122 times in Dohány Street because they were not willing to eliminate double-sided parking on the critical section. With the jams, you are punishing thousands of passengers, and who knows how many of them don't get on the 74 trolley because of that, because the BKK schedule cannot be taken seriously because of the jams. The traffic jam also annoys the residents of the residential buildings in the area, because nervous honking is common in connection with the interrupted trolley, which disturbs the people living in the area.

Erzsébetváros is Budapest's smallest area and one of the most densely populated districts, so if anywhere, there is a noticeable need for attractive and predictable public transport: you must provide it.

Please renew Dohány utca: make it possible to walk here and drive in a sustainable way!

We ask CEO Walter Katalin and Mayor Péter Niedermüller to listen to the voices of those protesting the unsustainable situation and solve the problem of the 74 trolley traffic jam. In the current situation, if the two recipients do not have the same position, we would like to remind you that the BKK is responsible for the matter, so we ask you, if Péter Niedermüller and his municipality continue to obstruct the solution, then the BKK exercises its own rights to cancel the sidewalk parking on the critical section of Dohány utca.

Sincerely:
